Machine electrical equipment testing under EN 60204-1
IEC 60204-1 addresses electrical, electronic and programmable equipment of machines within its scope, starting at the supply connection to the machine equipment.
Scope and technical route
IEC 60204-1 addresses electrical, electronic and programmable equipment of machines within its scope, starting at the supply connection to the machine equipment. Check the applicable EN adoption and official harmonised reference separately: citing an IEC number does not automatically establish EU presumption. Machine electrical work is one part of final machinery conformity.
Evidence, work and cost
Use actual schematics, supply ratings, protective bonding, overcurrent protection, control functions and technical documentation to define the verification plan. Select applicable inspections and tests under the standard with competent personnel and suitable equipment. The test record identifies machine/configuration, method, results and unresolved findings. Panel certification or one resistance result does not validate the entire machine.
Work plan and changes
Provide the complete electrical configuration, machine modes, drives, control changes and site supply data. Separate review, measurements, controls verification and necessary physical corrections. Safety-related control-system validation and the whole-machine risk assessment have their own evidence. After changing drives, wiring or protection, review affected results; no single electrical report completes all CE duties.
Responsibility
Kayra prepares the scope and evidence inventory, tracks gaps and coordinates external work. It does not issue the official certificate, assume manufacturer or importer responsibility, or claim recognised laboratory/body status. Separate preparation and external fees; readiness, findings and necessary corrections determine timing. No positive result or fixed date is promised.
