GLOBALG.A.P. IFA Integrated Farm Assurance
Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) assesses responsible practices in primary production. For fruit and vegetables, IFA Version 6 Smart and GFS are two valid editions. GFS matters where a buyer requires GFSI recognition; select the edition against actual customer needs.
Scope and current rules
An IFA application brief starts with producer identity, products, production units, areas, seasons and handling activities. State whether the applicant is an individual producer or a group and whether the buyer requires Smart or GFS. List externally purchased product and requested add-ons separately from the farm’s own scope. As of 3 October 2026, IFA v6.1 Smart has been published since 1 September. Its valid-from and replacement dates remain to be announced; v6.1 GFS is not yet public, and v6 GFS remains valid pending benchmarking. Confirm the applicable edition with the body.
Connect preparation to real production
The producer confirms plot and harvest identities; preparation connects inputs, water, harvest and dispatch evidence. The approved body confirms edition, option and scope before assessment planning. Give an owner to missing product separation or group-control evidence. A GGN, buyer request or existing national İTU document does not admit every plot into IFA.
A hypothetical producer plans to dispatch its IFA-covered crop together with the same crop bought from a neighbouring plot. Record the external product’s source, scope status and quantity separately; similar appearance cannot establish a certified claim. Examine plot, harvest and dispatch links. Discuss new production units or product handling with the approved body before representing the existing certificate as covering the entire delivery.
Independent decision and consultancy
IFA compliance is audited annually. To retain status, the body’s audit must occur within the current certificate’s validity period. Assess new plots, products and handling points for scope effects. A certificate copy alone does not prove that the current product is covered and valid.
Kayra Patent consultancy supports scope definition, record organisation and tracking unfinished preparation work. The relevant authorised or scheme approved body performs the audit and makes the certification decision. Separate consultancy and that body’s services in the quotation.
