ISO 45001 Certificate Occupational Health and Safety
ISO 45001 evaluates an occupational health and safety management system within its stated activities and workplaces. It does not guarantee zero accidents or replace the employer’s legal duties. Certification requires actual risk controls and worker involvement, not simply a risk matrix. The applicant implements its system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra is limited to actual activities and sites, application information, authority and impartiality review; it does not include designing or implementing the client’s management system. The certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and entities under its organisational control cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.

Include work that creates the risk
Identify sites, shifts, routine and non-routine tasks, contractors, temporary workplaces and people affected by the work. Establish the actual responsibilities and applicable obligations. Maintenance during a shutdown may create hazards not evident in normal production; it must not disappear because the application lists only the main product. Describe how workers can report risks, contribute to decisions and receive feedback without barriers.
Show why a control was selected
Assess hazards and occupational health and safety risks, then consider the hierarchy of controls rather than defaulting to protective equipment. In a hypothetical machine-maintenance job, compare removing the hazard and engineering controls with reliance on instructions alone. Record the decision, responsible people, implementation and checks. Workers’ knowledge of the task should inform the review; attendance signatures do not establish meaningful participation.
Connect implementation to audit readiness
Provide hazard and obligation evaluations, operating controls, competence, worker-feedback trails, incident investigations and corrective actions. Check whether an action actually reduces the recurring risk. Complete internal audit and management review before independent certification assessment. A new contractor or shift can alter the assessment scope and resource needs. Include these changes and the complexity of hazardous work when requesting a justified audit plan and quotation.
Application, independent decision and quotation
Supply the legal entity, actual activities, locations, workforce, shifts, supplier dependencies and existing records. Verify the proposed programme, edition and the certification body’s current scope. Initial audit stages, findings and corrective-action evidence precede a separate impartial decision; ISO does not issue certificates. Distinguish implementation and any testing costs from independent assessment, surveillance, recertification, travel and follow-up. Missing records or unresolved actions affect the calendar; neither a paid application nor an audit report guarantees certification.
Official sources and application limits
The operating examples are hypothetical, not customer events or guaranteed decisions. The actual standard and competent body determine requirements.
