Good Agricultural Practices Safe and Traceable Production
İyi Tarım Uygulamaları (İTU) is a separate Turkish control and certification system under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s legislation and instructions. Scope and current rules
For Turkish İTU, prepare producer, parcel, product and production-period information before production starts. Include previous land use, neighbouring activities, water sources and available input records. Check the Ministry’s current authorised-body route; describe the proposed production honestly rather than submitting an old certificate as a new parcel’s proof.
Connect preparation to real production
The producer owns the production data; preparation identifies risks and missing records for discussion with the Ministry-authorised control and certification body. That body evaluates scope and necessary controls. Plan field access, sampling where required and harvest traceability against the season. Neither consultancy acceptance nor a quotation guarantees certification, support payments or export acceptance.
A hypothetical producer rents a new plot and wants to apply an existing Turkish İTU certificate to its crop. Record previous land use, water source, neighbouring activities and production period first. The Ministry-authorised body assesses the new scope and required controls. A certificate copy or growing the same crop is insufficient for the new plot; harvest identity and inputs must link to the relevant production area.
Independent decision and consultancy
Follow control findings, corrections and scope changes with the authorised body. Assess a new season, product or plot against the certificate’s existing scope. Labels and logo use follow ministry rules; an old certificate copy is not proof of current validity.
