ISO/IEC 27001 Certificate Information Security Management System
ISO/IEC 27001 concerns a risk-based information security management system, protecting confidentiality, integrity and availability within defined boundaries. It is not a promise of breach-free operation, a software approval or automatic proof of compliance with every data-protection law. The applicant implements its system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra is limited to actual activities and sites, application information, authority and impartiality review; it does not include designing or implementing the client’s management system. The certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and entities under its organisational control cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.

Define information and service interfaces
Identify the legal entity, information, processes, sites, systems and supplier interfaces in scope. For a hypothetical outsourced payroll service, distinguish the organisation’s decisions and access controls from the cloud supplier’s responsibilities. The supplier’s certificate does not automatically cover the customer’s system. Record relevant contractual and legal information-security requirements rather than claiming that every group company and application is included.
Connect risks, treatment and the Statement of Applicability
Use stated risk criteria to assess threats to confidentiality, integrity and availability and assign risk owners. Choose treatment, record residual-risk decisions and explain the controls in the Statement of Applicability, including reasons for inclusion or exclusion. Do not treat Annex A as an unexplained checklist. A departing employee example should connect the access risk with removal responsibilities, evidence of revocation and review of any remaining privileged access.
Prepare evidence of a working system
Link risk assessments, treatment plans and the Statement of Applicability to operational records: access review, incidents, supplier checks, monitoring and corrective actions. Internal audit and management review should test whether selected controls operate and remain appropriate. Application inputs include actual users, sites, technologies, supplier dependence and system complexity. These influence audit competence, time and quotation; a penetration-test report alone cannot replace the whole management-system assessment.
Application, independent decision and quotation
Supply the legal entity, actual activities, locations, workforce, shifts, supplier dependencies and existing records. Verify the proposed programme, edition and the certification body’s current scope. Initial audit stages, findings and corrective-action evidence precede a separate impartial decision; ISO does not issue certificates. Distinguish implementation and any testing costs from independent assessment, surveillance, recertification, travel and follow-up. Missing records or unresolved actions affect the calendar; neither a paid application nor an audit report guarantees certification.
Official sources and application limits
The operating examples are hypothetical, not customer events or guaranteed decisions. The actual standard and competent body determine requirements.
