A trademark missed at ordinary renewal may have a six-month additional renewal period with the required surcharge. Check the exact expiry date and current official tariff before payment. Do not apply this trademark rule indiscriminately to patent fees or every foreign registration.

Worked file: a renewal instruction arrives after ordinary expiry. Obtain the register date, identify the relevant late-renewal window and tariff, and retain the official receipt. Do not assume a payment sent on the final day was accepted for the correct registration without checking the official transaction.

Renewal and deadline monitoring

Separate trademark renewal, design renewal and patent annual-fee events in the portfolio calendar. Record the legal owner, right number and jurisdiction for each event. An annual reminder without the actual statutory due date can miss an essential filing.

Trademark registration costs

Separate trademark filing charges, registration-stage charges and professional service fees. Check class coverage and the current TÜRKPATENT tariff. A quote must state what it includes; paying a consultant does not guarantee an official registration.

Trademark portfolio management

Reconcile trademark portfolios by owner, sign, goods/services, territories, renewal dates and use evidence. Link every licence and transfer to the relevant registration. A domain, trade name and registered trademark are separate assets and need separate records.
