Türkiye: practical decision and evidence

Trademark bulletin publication opens a challenge stage before registration is final. Save the bulletin number, publication date and goods/services list. A published application is not a registration certificate, and the opposition calendar starts from publication rather than the original filing day.

Worked file: the applicant receives an alert showing its mark in a bulletin. Archive the exact entry and goods/services, record the publication event and check pending objections. Communicate the distinction between publication and completed registration so launch decisions do not rely on the wrong status.

Trademark opposition deadlines

Turkish trademark publication opposition is generally due within two months of publication; appeals against office decisions use their own notification-based timetable. Identify the event and preserve its date. A filing date is not a substitute for the bulletin publication or decision notification date.

Opposition arguments and evidence

An opposition needs the application number, legal grounds, reasoned arguments and indexed evidence. Verify the official filing procedure, payment and receipt before the deadline. Sending documents to a consultant or by ordinary email is not necessarily a valid official opposition.

Notarised trademark consent

A Turkish notarised consent can address the specific earlier identical/indistinguishably similar mark ground when the statutory conditions are met. Identify the exact applications and goods/services. It does not cure every absolute or relative refusal ground automatically.

Official filing and support
