Türkiye: practical decision and evidence

The EPO examines European patent applications under the European Patent Convention. Plan the designated states, examination responses and post-grant national requirements. A European application is not automatic worldwide protection, and its grant does not dispense with every national formality.

Worked file: an applicant sees an EPO grant and assumes protection in every European state without further action. Identify the actual granted patent, designated territories and applicable post-grant requirements. Verify legal effect country by country rather than describing all European markets as automatically protected.

PCT international applications

The PCT organises an international filing and search stage followed by national/regional procedures. Plan priority, receiving office and country-specific national-phase requirements. It does not grant a single world patent; national offices decide on protection.

Patentability conditions

Assess novelty, inventive step and industrial applicability separately using dated prior art and a feature comparison. Distinguish technical solutions from excluded subject matter. A working prototype or commercial success alone does not establish patentability.

Patent annual fees

Patent maintenance needs a calendar linked to filing dates and the applicable annual-fee year. Verify the current official tariff and payment record. Payment to an intermediary does not prove that the office received the correct fee for the correct patent.

Official filing and support

This guidance concerns Turkish rights unless a section expressly names another jurisdiction. Kayra can coordinate research, document preparation and follow-up.
