Türkiye: practical decision and evidence

For packaging and graphic designs, separate the visual appearance, brand sign and technical container function. Prepare representations of the protection sought and a disclosure chronology. A trademark certificate does not automatically protect every packaging redesign.

Worked file: a package combines a logo, printed illustration and functional closure. Decide which appearance and sign should be filed, prepare consistent views and retain first-sale records. Treat trademark, design and technical-function questions separately rather than claiming the trademark certificate protects the complete package.

Design representations

Prepare consistent views that disclose the same design and its relevant visible features. Explain omitted views and any excluded parts where required. Mixed colours, inconsistent shapes or unclear contours can leave the intended protection uncertain.

Word mark or logo

Choose a word mark when the sign sought is the wording, and a figurative filing when the intended sign includes its visual composition. Compare actual use and planned logo changes. Registering one version does not mean every future redesign has the same scope.

Partial design protection

For a partial design, identify the visible part claimed and clearly distinguish the remainder. Make all views consistent with that choice and verify local representation practice. Ambiguous broken lines can be interpreted as decoration instead of excluded matter.

Official filing and support
