Patent claims

Türkiye: practical decision and evidence

Patent claims define the technical matter for which protection is sought. Link every feature to the original description and distinguish independent from dependent claims. Revisions must not introduce unsupported subject matter merely to avoid earlier art.

Worked file: a response adds a technical feature absent from the original description. Map each proposed amendment to the filed disclosure and distinguish narrowing supported features from introducing new matter. Explain how the claims meet objections without silently expanding the technical content.

Patent description

A patent description must explain the technical problem, solution and examples sufficiently to support the claims. Check terminology and drawing references for consistency. Advertising benefits alone do not enable a skilled person to carry out the invention.

Patentability conditions

Assess novelty, inventive step and industrial applicability separately using dated prior art and a feature comparison. Distinguish technical solutions from excluded subject matter. A working prototype or commercial success alone does not establish patentability.

Patent examination report

Read a patent examination report by separating each objection, affected claim and cited evidence. Build a response matrix supported by the original disclosure. A positive search comment does not automatically resolve clarity, sufficiency or later examination objections.

Official filing and support
