Türkiye: practical decision and evidence

For technology monitoring, define technical classes, competitors, countries and reporting frequency. Deduplicate patent families and review status changes. A publication shows disclosed technical information; it does not prove that a competitor manufactured or commercialised the invention.

Worked file: weekly alerts count every member of one patent family as a new invention. Deduplicate families, record priority and publication events and identify substantive changes. Relate results to selected technical questions; a large alert count is not evidence of competitor production or technological novelty.

Patent search databases

Use TÜRKPATENT, Espacenet and PATENTSCOPE for complementary patent searches. Record publication/application numbers, families and search dates. Search databases are not interchangeable with the official national register for current legal status.

Preliminary patent search

Search patent literature and relevant non-patent disclosures using technical synonyms and IPC/CPC classifications. Record dates and feature comparisons. Patentability searching and freedom-to-operate analysis are different tasks and should not be presented as the same report.

Intellectual property portfolio audit

Audit the portfolio by reconciling official register status, owners, territories, classes/claims, licences and due dates. Record discrepancies and action owners. A historic spreadsheet or certificate image does not prove current legal status.

Official filing and support

This guidance concerns Turkish rights unless a section expressly names another jurisdiction. Kayra can coordinate research, document preparation and follow-up.
