PCT international applications

Türkiye: practical decision and evidence

The PCT organises an international filing and search stage followed by national/regional procedures. Plan priority, receiving office and country-specific national-phase requirements. It does not grant a single world patent; national offices decide on protection.

Worked file: an applicant assumes the PCT publication gives protection in every named export market. List desired national/regional phases and their applicable requirements and calendars. Obtain office status separately; the international stage supplies a filing framework and search information, not a universal grant.

European patent through EPO

The EPO examines European patent applications under the European Patent Convention. Plan the designated states, examination responses and post-grant national requirements. A European application is not automatic worldwide protection, and its grant does not dispense with every national formality.

Preliminary patent search

Search patent literature and relevant non-patent disclosures using technical synonyms and IPC/CPC classifications. Record dates and feature comparisons. Patentability searching and freedom-to-operate analysis are different tasks and should not be presented as the same report.

Patent application

A patent application needs an enabling description, claims, abstract and any necessary drawings, together with applicant/inventor and priority information. Freeze the technical disclosure before submission. Commercial claims and an incomplete sketch cannot replace a reproducible teaching.

Official filing and support

This guidance concerns Turkish rights unless a section expressly names another jurisdiction. Kayra can coordinate research, document preparation and follow-up. Registration, opposition and grant decisions belong to the competent office. Verify any required representative’s registration and authority before appointing them; court proceedings require appropriately qualified legal representation.
