Natural cosmetics: Contract for a formula review with defined outputs
The marketing word “natural”, natural-origin calculation and COSMOS NATURAL licence are different things. COSMOS ORGANIC has separate programme conditions and a distinct assessment target.
Contract for a formula review with defined outputs
If a consultant promises COSMOS approval after checking only botanical ingredients, require review of the complete formula, material processes, manufacturing and proposed label. Agree who obtains missing supplier information and how questions reach the actual body. Preparation can produce a versioned gap file; it cannot license the signature or waive the programme’s conditions.
Programme conditions and worked assessment
Example: A brand sees a high ISO 16128 calculation and wants to apply the COSMOS signature. Record the calculation basis and formula version, but do not treat a percentage as licensing acceptance. Raw-material processing, formula, manufacturing and labelling are assessed under the selected programme. Verify the authorised body in the owner's actual register. NATURAL assessment does not automatically provide organic-product approval. A consultant spreadsheet or botanical image is not proprietary mark permission; the label claim must match the accepted scope and version.
Evidence and authority boundary
COSMOS v4.2 applies from 1 September 2025. “Natural” does not guarantee safety or treatment effects, and no unverified Kayra/QRS programme authority is asserted.
