Organic cosmetics: Verify the claim and its denominator
An organic raw-material certificate, finished-product assessment and label permission are distinct outcomes. An oil's name alone does not satisfy COSMOS ORGANIC requirements.
Verify the claim and its denominator
If a label says “organic percentage”, compare the stated denominator and formula version with the accepted calculation and licence conditions. Check actual product and body information rather than a supplier’s raw-material entry alone. NATURAL is not an ORGANIC decision. Investigate a mismatched percentage before using it; a valid ingredient certificate cannot correct a misleading finished-product claim.
Programme conditions and worked assessment
Example: A brand states the percentage within its organic ingredients as the organic percentage of the entire product. Separate quantities and calculation denominator and compare the claim with the labelling guide. Manufacturer and material coverage must match the formula. Do not conclude product approval from the oil alone without explaining water and other components. NATURAL assessment is not an ORGANIC licence. The authorised body evaluates the calculation and label; a consultant cannot grant signature permission or expand the accepted product scope.
Evidence and authority boundary
Use COSMOS v4.2, labelling guidance and the authorised-body register. Organic claims are not therapeutic, risk-free or cosmetic-safety determinations.
