Vegan conformity conditions: product and origin scope
Identify which finished products seek which programme mark. Company-wide vegan marketing does not prove all variants have been accepted under the same scope.
Decision and worked example
Example: A cosmetics range documents only its main botanical ingredients, leaving perfume subcomponents and processing aids unexplained. Complete uncertain origins using manufacturer codes and process statements. Compare formula version, supplier and relevant testing responsibilities with the selected programme. Review shared production and cross-contact controls too. A generic ingredient name is not an origin statement. A buyer request does not itself satisfy every licensing or legal-acceptance condition; permission depends on the actual owner's assessment of the documented finished products.
Records for this purpose
- Candidate finished products and formula versions.
- Ambiguous origins, carriers and processing information.
- Relevant testing responsibilities and shared-production controls.
Conditions and authority limits
Vegan criteria and allergen or consumer safety are distinct matters. Confirm programme and buyer requirements; a plant-origin statement cannot automatically establish a licence or risk-free result.
Kayra service role
Kayra may support scope definition, document preparation and assessment coordination within its contracted role. The programme owner’s rules and the selected body’s current authority, scope and decision responsibilities are checked separately. Preparation does not guarantee certification, mark permission, an audit rating or legal compliance.
