BRCGS Certificate Enquiry
Collect the complete BRCGS certificate: site name and address, standard and issue, scope, certification body and dates. Certificate search is provided through the BRCGS Directory; the owner moved it to a credentialed service with free Directory Lite access, rather than unrestricted public certificate search.
Use the official Directory access route
An approved certification body can be checked separately in the official body search by country and standard. Finding the body does not verify an individual site certificate. Use the site certificate record and match the requested Food Safety scope.
Check the certified site and activities
Hypothetical example: a group supplies food from two factories but sends the Food Safety certificate of only one. Compare the manufacturing address on the order and batch documentation with the certified site before accepting the document for that delivery.
Read activities and product scope as well as dates. A Packaging Materials certificate is not the food factory’s Food Safety certificate. An old PDF, group logo or approved-body listing cannot resolve a different site or standard.
Keep unresolved evidence separate from a positive check
Save the record consulted, check date and outstanding differences. Where access or details cannot be resolved, ask the holder and its approved certification body for clarification. Do not label a certificate forged merely because login or a search result is unavailable.
