BRCGS Certificate Transfer
Changing BRCGS Food Safety body does not automatically rename a certificate. F926 restricts changes during the last four months before the re-audit due date, unless BRCGS agrees in writing through the body's concession process.
Check the change window
Collect certificate, site, scope, audit history, open follow-up work and actual re-audit due date. Keep that date separate from expiry. Have the proposed approved body clarify its arrangements before treating a quotation as acceptance.
Test a late-change promise
Hypothetical example: three months remain before re-audit is due and a provider promises an immediate cheaper switch. Check whether the required written BRCGS agreement through the body exists; a sales email or consultancy signature is not that agreement.
Keep current audit obligations visible during clarification. Record who will perform the planned audit and what evidence is needed. A new contract does not establish that previous findings disappear, the calendar restarts or certification continues without interruption.
Keep authority and status explicit
Kayra can compile history, compare scope and dates, and track questions. Certification bodies manage programme arrangements and BRCGS grants any required concession. A consultant cannot approve the change or replace the certification decision.
Retain the written outcome and check actual site, scope and status through the official Directory. Separate preparation and body charges. Payment, a promised date or an old copy cannot prove acceptance of a change.

Can a quotation approve a late switch?
No. In the restricted window the specified written BRCGS agreement through the body is required.
Is re-audit due date identical to expiry?
Do not assume so. Record the actual due date used by the protocol.

Scope and decision verification
Kayra Patent supports requirement analysis, document preparation and process coordination. Conformity or certification decisions belong to the independent body or public authority authorised under the applicable law and programme. Kayra cannot replace that decision or guarantee a certificate. Verify the issuer, scope, dates and any official register entry.
