FSSC 22000 How Is the Certificate Checked?
Search the Public Register by organisation name or COID. Preserve the legal name and site address from the certificate so that a similar trading name is not mistaken for the same entity. The register concerns currently FSSC-certified organisations, including FSSC 22000 and FSSC 24000; select the relevant scheme.

Compare scope and current status
Read the certificate and register entry together: site, activity, category, identification and status must correspond to the intended transaction. Do not treat one certified site as coverage for every company location or product. Check the issuing certification body’s current programme role separately; a general ISO 22000 document is not proof of FSSC certification.
Worked scope mismatch
Hypothetical case: a supplier presents a certificate for its production site, while the purchased product is handled at a different warehouse. Match the product movement, site address and certified activity before claiming that the warehouse is covered. A shared company name or familiar logo does not resolve the difference; record the unanswered scope question.
Follow an unresolved result
A missing or inconsistent entry requires clarification with the issuing certification body and Foundation FSSC. Check spelling and COID before drawing a conclusion; do not label a certificate fraudulent solely because one search returned nothing. Kayra can help organise the verification file, but cannot change the register, issue the programme decision or guarantee supplier acceptance.
Is a certificate PDF sufficient?
No. Compare its organisation, site, scope and status with the official register and the issuing body’s records.
Does an absent result prove fraud?
Not by itself. Check identifiers and ask the certification body or Foundation FSSC for clarification.
Does checking certify the supplier?
No. Verification examines existing status; the approved body’s assessment and certification decision are separate.

Scope and decision verification
Conformity or certification decisions belong to the independent body or public authority authorised under the applicable law and programme. Verify the issuer, scope, dates and any official register entry. The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. For FSSC certification, separately verify the selected legal entity’s programme licence, relevant scope and current status; ISO 22000 accreditation alone is not an FSSC licence. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
