Good Agricultural Practices in Türkiye: Choosing an Authorised Body and Separating Advice
For Türkiye’s İyi Tarım Uygulamaları (İTU) programme, choose a control and certification body (KSK) from the Ministry’s current authorised list. Match its legal name, authorisation period and approved production scope to the actual proposed activity. A familiar agricultural logo, a GLOBALG.A.P. approval or a company’s commercial description does not establish Turkish İTU authorisation.
Check the organisation before discussing a quotation
Ask who performs control and who makes the certification decision, what production areas and products the proposed contract covers, and how additions will be handled. The regulation separates these functions. Compare an actual contract and scope rather than an attractive package described simply as agricultural certification.
Do not combine a KSK decision with its own consultancy
Article 18 of the Ministry-linked İTU regulation requires impartiality and expressly prohibits the authorised KSK from providing consultancy. A separate invoice or a label such as preparation support does not establish that prohibited services are permitted. The producer remains responsible for applying the requirements and maintaining real production records.
Hypothetically, a grape producer requests control for owned plots and a newly leased parcel. The proposed package also promises that the same KSK will design pesticide and irrigation procedures before deciding certification. First clarify the parcel and product scope; do not accept that consultancy promise as part of the KSK role. If independent advice is sought, identify its actual provider and check conflicts without assuming a different company exists behind a brand.
Define the handover and retain the decision boundary
Give the selected KSK the real producer identity, parcel and product information, production calendar and records relevant to control. Specify document access, control arrangements, findings and responsibility for corrections in the contract. Advice, a completed folder and payment cannot replace control of the covered production or the certifier’s decision.
Before requesting any activity from Kayra, establish its actual permitted role, relevant authorisation and independence arrangements. This page does not establish that Kayra is an authorised İTU KSK or may offer consultancy under that role. Use the current Ministry list and the regulation to check the proposed activity, not a general certification sales label.

The exact records for Good Agricultural Practices in Türkiye: Choosing an Authorised Body and Separating Advice depend on the confirmed scope. Current, consistent and traceable information reduces avoidable revisions.
Scope and decision verification
The applicant provides actual producer, product and parcel information and genuine production records. Confirm Kayra’s permitted role, relevant authority and independence before any requested activity; a commercial name or quotation does not establish KSK authorisation. İTU control and certification belong to the authorised KSK, which article 18 prohibits from providing consultancy. The producer remains responsible for implementation.
