Is it mandatory? Legal and customer conditions

Offering products as certified under the Turkish İTU name and logo requires control and certification through a body authorised under the Good Agricultural Practices rules. This does not establish that every producer must certify every crop. Check the actual current conditions of a buyer requirement or a specific support application separately; organic or GLOBALG.A.P. certification does not automatically establish İTU status.

Which scope and rules apply?

İyi Tarım Uygulamaları (İTU) is a separate Turkish control and certification system under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s legislation and instructions. It is not the same certificate as organic farming or GLOBALG.A.P. First identify products, production scope and applicable national requirements.

Example decision: a scope change

A hypothetical producer rents a new plot and wants to apply an existing Turkish İTU certificate to its crop. Record previous land use, water source, neighbouring activities and production period first. The Ministry-authorised body assesses the new scope and required controls. A certificate copy or growing the same crop is insufficient for the new plot; harvest identity and inputs must link to the relevant production area.
