Kosher: Reconcile Schedule A and Schedule B
Check the buyer's request and selected programme. Food safety, halal or vegan approval does not automatically satisfy kosher assessment; ingredient and production information is required.
Reconcile Schedule A and Schedule B
If a new filling appears in production but not in the approved-input list, map its manufacturer, code and composition to the relevant products. Under OU’s process, Schedule A concerns accepted inputs and Schedule B finished brands, products and designations. A certificate for a supplier’s other material does not fill the gap. Submit the change before treating the resulting products as covered.
Programme conditions and worked assessment
Example: A buyer requests one symbol, while the producer sends another issuer's certificate and assumes acceptance. Obtain the accepted issuer, product designation and private-label conditions in writing. Prepare supplier identities, material documents, production order and equipment use. Confirm whether the chosen issuer accepts each supplied certificate; logo resemblance is insufficient. Expose missing or unlisted ingredients. If programme and product scope are unclear, do not promise acceptance across every market or a fixed assessment outcome; clarify the actual arrangement before preparation is commissioned.
Evidence and authority boundary
Explain requirements within the buyer/programme context rather than as a universal certificate. A consultant cannot independently approve ingredients, supervision arrangements or another issuer's mark.
