When does a plumbing product require WaterMark?
Define the actual plumbing or drainage function, intended installation and materials.
Use product and exclusion schedules, not appearance
Define the actual plumbing or drainage function, intended installation and materials. Check the current WaterMark Schedule of Products and Schedule of Excluded Products and relevant specification. Water contact alone does not settle the route, and absence from a database search is not proof of exclusion.
An excluded product still needs appropriate evidence of suitability under applicable plumbing rules. An excluded assembly may contain integral components that require individual certification. Keep drinking-water suitability, current material requirements and WELS obligations in the review where applicable; exclusion does not waive every obligation.
Responsible preparation and decision
Conditional case: a supplier calls a complete appliance excluded while its integral valve is a scheduled product. Examine the actual assembly and component requirements with the relevant participants. Do not use the appliance description to hide the valve’s certification task.
Kayra can organize documents and coordinate questions. The manufacturer or licence holder, WMCAB and laboratory retain their assigned duties. Kayra is not presented as a WaterMark issuer, regulator or accredited laboratory; preparation does not guarantee acceptance or a date.
