A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system.

An energy study can identify use patterns and improvement opportunities. ISO 50001:2018 concerns a continuing management system with an energy review, significant energy uses, performance indicators, baselines, objectives and evaluation. A purchased study is not an ISO system certificate, and certification does not guarantee a fixed savings percentage.
Conditional operating example
For a hypothetical compressed-air system, a study may recommend leak repair. The organisation still needs ownership, implementation evidence, appropriate measurements and evaluation under comparable operating conditions. Lower total consumption during lower production does not alone prove better performance. Agree whether the service deliverable is a study report, implementation support or independent system assessment before comparing cost.
Base the energy review on data
Review consumption and energy use to identify significant energy uses. Explain priorities using operating conditions as well as equipment ratings and improvement opportunities. In a hypothetical compressed air system, leaks, pressure settings and idle operation are different possible causes. The energy team should identify the data needed and the people who understand actual operating conditions.
Standard edition and programme limits
ISO 50001:2018, including consideration of its 2024 amendment, addresses an energy management system. Energy review, performance indicators and an energy baseline support evaluation of performance. Certification is not a fixed percentage saving, a substitute for an energy-study service or automatic satisfaction of every energy-law duty.
ISO does not issue certificates. Verify the proposed issuer, standard and activity against any claimed accreditation scope. Consultancy cannot guarantee approval; the competent body evaluates evidence and makes the independent decision. The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
