ISO 50001 records: data, baseline and outcomes
Show where energy data originates and how the performance comparison uses it.
Decision and conditional example
For a hypothetical compressor, connect meter readings, operating periods and production within the same time boundary. Document significant-use evaluation, indicator and baseline methods. If data is missing or measurement changed, explain the effect on comparison. Evaluate post-improvement consumption with suitable variables rather than taking savings from a supplier’s estimate. Competence, maintenance, energy purchasing and design evidence supports operational control. Link internal audit and management-review outcomes to implementation. Select record arrangements according to data quality and energy uses; a bill archive alone does not explain why a reported performance change is credible.
Evidence linked to this purpose
- Meter, period and activity match
- Baseline and variable method
- Actual improvement-result data
Standard and authority boundaries
ISO 50001:2018, including consideration of its 2024 amendment, addresses an energy management system. Energy review, performance indicators and an energy baseline support evaluation of performance. Certification is not a fixed percentage saving, a substitute for an energy-study service or automatic satisfaction of every energy-law duty.
Kayra’s role and the independent decision
The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. ISO publishes standards and does not certify organisations. Verify the chosen body’s current standard edition, activity coverage and any claimed accreditation. Preparation does not guarantee approval, legal compliance or authority to certify a newly published edition. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
