Decision and conditional example

Office coverage does not show that a production facility was assessed; verify activities and sites in the certificate. Product test reports and conformity marks require separate routes. Following publication of the 2026 edition, do not determine a 2015 certificate’s status from the catalogue alone: obtain issuer status and transition information. A small organisation can use simple records, but must retain the implementation and outcome trail. Preparation and the independent certification decision have different responsibilities. Check the actual entity and scope before extending a document’s claim to other operations or products.

Standard and authority boundaries

The current ISO catalogue edition is ISO 9001:2026. Withdrawal of the 2015 edition from the catalogue alone does not determine an existing certificate’s status. Confirm applicable edition, transition arrangements and the issuer’s accredited coverage separately. Quality management-system certification is not product approval or a guarantee of flawless delivery on every order.

Kayra’s role and the independent decision

The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. ISO publishes standards and does not certify organisations. Verify the chosen body’s current standard edition, activity coverage and any claimed accreditation. Preparation does not guarantee approval, legal compliance or authority to certify a newly published edition. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
