ISO/IEC 27001 records: risk decision to control outcome
Connect risk treatment, the SoA and implementation evidence.
Decision and conditional example
For an access risk, connect the chosen control, authorisation arrangements and review results. Where risk is accepted, retain the authorised decision and rationale. Support the SoA’s implementation status with actual records rather than ticking a control name. Incident reviews, supplier assessments, competence, internal audit and management-review results support the relevant scope. Evidence may contain sensitive information: define sharing authority and protection. Prepare safe, authorised access to necessary evidence rather than sending confidential datasets indiscriminately during an enquiry. Select records according to risks and controls, not a universal folder package.

Standard and authority boundaries
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 with its 2024 amendment addresses an information security management system. Risk assessment and treatment, the Statement of Applicability and control results must relate to scope. Certification does not guarantee no attack, security of every product or satisfaction of all data-protection duties.
Kayra’s role and the independent decision
The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. ISO publishes standards and does not certify organisations. Verify the chosen body’s current standard edition, activity coverage and any claimed accreditation. Preparation does not guarantee approval, legal compliance or authority to certify a newly published edition. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
