Set the preparation sequence

Begin with the product description and legal roles, then identify the applicable requirements and assessment procedure. Decide what evidence already addresses those requirements and what remains to be obtained. A general enquiry should include intended use, configurations, manufacturer identity and available reports, enabling a scoped plan instead of a promise to issue a universal certificate.

Build the risk and technical evidence, arrange required testing or independent assessment, resolve nonconformities and approve the controlled file. Prepare the legally relevant declaration from the actual evidence, then apply the prescribed marking. Keep instructions, traceability and production controls aligned with the released configuration.

02

A hypothetical early label order

A manufacturer orders labels before a thermal test is completed. The proposed label also lists models that were not included in the assessment plan. Pause the release decision: obtain the report, resolve its result and confirm the justified model coverage. A printed logo or signed commercial order is not evidence that assessment is complete.

Create a release checklist separating test closure, configuration approval, declaration authority and label verification. Keep the failed or incomplete task open with an owner. The next action is technical closure and scope confirmation before approving the final declaration and marking, not backdating the file to meet the label supplier’s delivery date.

03

Handover for continuing manufacture

Retain the approved baseline and a route for evaluating later component or process changes. Record where the original evidence is stored and who can provide it when requested. A preparation project should end with clear maintenance responsibilities, rather than a document package that no one can explain or update.

Kayra may help coordinate this workflow and organise the documents. The manufacturer must make the actual conformity and release decisions; any legally required independent assessment remains separate. A timetable is conditional on adequate inputs and resolution of technical issues, with no guaranteed positive outcome or universal completion period.
