When Is G Marking Required for a Construction Product?
Check permanent construction use, CE applicability and the national technical specification before claiming a G obligation.

G marking is a Turkish national route for construction products placed on the market for permanent incorporation in construction works where mandatory CE marking does not apply. Determine the product, intended use and applicable technical specification before choosing the route. A cheaper quotation does not make G an alternative to a required CE assessment.
Check product use and regulatory scope
Identify whether the product is intended for permanent incorporation in building or civil-engineering works. Determine whether mandatory CE marking applies and whether the national G framework and technical specification cover the product. A broad description such as “construction material” is not enough.
Confirm the specification and attestation tasks
Check the relevant national standard or, where appropriate, national technical approval and the applicable attestation system. Identify the characteristics, product evidence and production controls it requires. Do not promise the same document list for every material or use.
Resolve uncertainty before placing the product on the market
Present the actual product, intended use and technical basis to the competent contact or assessment body. Keep its clarification and the manufacturer’s scope evidence. A buyer’s request does not by itself prove the legal obligation, and G does not replace a CE route that actually applies.
The official Turkish product-rules database distinguishes the national G conformity certificate and/or G conformity declaration from the CE performance declaration. Required manufacturer and assessment-body tasks follow the applicable national technical specification and attestation system. A document bearing a logo does not establish completed assessment.
