GAR application workflow: choose the route and prepare a representative product
Plan the gas-product file, sample and production tasks before seeking a conformity decision.
Choose a route from the actual production plan
Begin with product function, intended gas/pressure conditions, destination and planned quantity. Series products ordinarily use EU-type examination combined with C2, D, E or F. For a single unit or small quantities, the manufacturer may choose those routes or unit verification, Module G. None is a self-declaration-only route for an in-scope GAR product.
Prepare the controlled file and representative product appropriate to the chosen procedure. Type-examination applications go to one chosen notified body and include the required declaration that the same application has not been lodged elsewhere. Technical evidence must support the actual design; filing an application is not permission to release it.
Hypothetical case: a single custom catering appliance
A supplier commissions one custom gas catering appliance and copies a mass-production checklist without discussing the actual quantity or route. Collect the supplied-unit description, gas train drawings, intended conditions, risk analysis and installation/use instructions. Ask a properly notified body which actual procedure and examination plan fit the project.
If unit verification is selected, arrange the competent examination of that actual unit and resolve evidence gaps; do not call a supplier report the body’s unit decision. If a type-based route is selected, complete the relevant production-conformity tasks too. A commercial delivery promise cannot settle missing technical or body decisions.
Supported release after competent assessment
After supported assessment, reconcile the product version, issued records, instructions, declaration and marking before market placement. Retain traceable responsibility and evidence for the actual product. Installation and local gas-supply compatibility still need their separate competent checks; a CE label does not prescribe a safe site connection.
Kayra can coordinate the preparation schedule and document handover within its agreed competence. It cannot guarantee a favourable examination or make the body’s decision. The next step is an explicit route-and-input plan for the custom appliance, followed by closure of the actual examination and release requirements.
