Resolve common confusion about the completed lift and its operating records.
Does a component certificate cover the lift?
No. A door-lock or overspeed-device certificate concerns its component scope and conditions. The completed installed lift still needs its applicable conformity procedure, installation evidence, declaration and marking. Similarly, a type document for a similar lift does not automatically cover different speed, controls or shaft conditions. Check actual identity and permitted variations.
Does CE replace maintenance or periodic inspection?
No. Product conformity and national in-service obligations address different tasks. Confirm the operating regime and whether actual modifications affect product scope. Neither a consultant’s file check nor a paid assessment appointment establishes a successful body decision.
