Prepare LVD conformity: from equipment definition to supported release
Sequence scope, safety assessment, production controls and declaration before marking electrical equipment for the EU market.
Establish the starting file
Begin with the manufacturer identity, product models, ratings, intended use and supplied accessories. Determine LVD applicability and exclusions together with other relevant legislation. Establish the safety-objective and evidence plan before ordering a generic certificate service. The applicable standard and specimen selection need justification for the actual equipment.
Prepare risk analysis, controlled design information and the calculations, examinations or tests needed for conformity assessment. Resolve shortcomings and connect production controls to the assessed construction. The manufacturer prepares the declaration from this supported basis and affixes the CE marking before placing compliant equipment on the market.
Hypothetical case: an incomplete cabinet-heater release
A manufacturer has labels printed for two 230 V cabinet-heater models, but the higher-power version uses a different enclosure and has no corresponding thermal evidence. The proposed declaration lists both models. Compare power ratings, enclosure construction, installation conditions, reports and the variant-selection rationale rather than assuming the shared catalogue family is enough.
Separate the supported model from the unresolved one. Obtain the technical work needed for the higher-power configuration and record the release restriction until it is resolved. Labels, packaging orders or a customer deadline do not justify extending an assessment to an unexamined construction or backdating the declaration.
Release controls and the service boundary
The release checklist should confirm the final model/revision, safety evidence, instructions, identification, declaration authority and production arrangements. Keep unresolved tasks open with a responsible person and objective closure condition. File formatting should follow the technical decision; a polished document does not supply missing thermal or protective evidence.
Kayra can help sequence and coordinate these preparation tasks. The manufacturer establishes conformity, maintains the file and production controls, and signs through the proper authority. The next practical step is a controlled model list and gap register; consultancy does not guarantee that a changed heater will pass testing or be accepted by every authority.
