amfori BSCI: Choose preparation through a defined contract
Updated:
amfori BSCI is a programme for assessing and improving social risks at production sites; it is not certification.
Choose preparation through a defined contract
If an offer bundles consultancy with a guaranteed A rating, request separate descriptions of preparation, member approval and authorised audit work. Agree access to original employment records, confidentiality and responsibility for implementing corrections. Reject fabricated timesheets or coached interviews as preparation methods. The contract should identify outputs the consultant can actually deliver.
Code of Conduct and preparation
Confirm applicable programme documents and Code of Conduct with the customer/RSP holder. Identify implementation gaps in hours, pay, recruitment, safety and worker involvement. Check the auditing company’s BSCI role in amfori’s current partner directory. The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. An enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
Verify the deliverable and report access
State site identity, RSP holder, auditing company, scope and follow-up service in the quotation. Check the report’s site, date, findings and access permissions; confirm customer sharing and commercial use against platform and buyer requirements. Preparation is not purchase of amfori membership or a BSCI certificate. Name the programme report and the consultant’s working file as distinct deliverables.
