For a factory adding a night shift, obtain workforce numbers, shift pattern, interview-language needs and RSP status before comparing quotations. Distinguish preparation hours, the audit partner’s charges, travel and implemented corrections. A low consultancy price does not fix missing platform approval or cover an unlisted second site. Set milestones around available evidence rather than buying a rating or universal completion date.

Audit timing and cost drivers

The auditing company quotes for the specific facility, considering scope such as audit duration, worker interviews and travel. Plan preparation, substantive corrections, independent auditing and any required follow-up separately. The RSP request and readiness of site evidence are inputs to scheduling. Purchasing a consultancy package cannot justify a promised rating by a fixed date, particularly before actual findings and correction needs are known.

Identify who owns the audit request

amfori BSCI is a programme for assessing and improving social risks at production sites; it is not certification. The amfori member holding RSP responsibility requests and approves the audit. A producer should confirm the customer’s membership, ability to hold RSP and platform invitation. A consultancy enquiry or payment cannot replace that authorisation chain.
