Scope and technical route
Directive 2014/34/EU concerns in-scope equipment and protective systems for explosive atmospheres. Define group, category, gas or dust environment and temperature limits. Product conformity differs from workplace zoning and employer protection duties; an equipment certificate does not approve the entire facility.
Evidence, work and cost
Article 13 selects the route by group, category and equipment nature. Group II Category 3 has internal production control; not all ATEX products require the same type certificate. Verify required body scope in NANDO. Document lodgement is not automatically a positive type examination. Link ignition-risk measures, tests and component conditions to the final equipment.
Responsibility
Kayra supports the scope note, evidence plan and assessment coordination. It does not claim notified-body or accredited laboratory status and does not guarantee a positive result or fixed certificate date. Manufacturer and required assessment-body duties remain separate. This guide addresses the EU/EEA route; national market and operation rules need their own check.
