01

Establish whether a body is required

Identify the applicable legislation, product category and assessment procedure first. Not every CE product requires a notified body. Where participation is required, distinguish design or type examination from production-stage tasks and identify the output prescribed by the procedure.

02

Check the official scope

Use the European Commission’s notified-body page to access NANDO. Match the body’s name and number, legislation, product scope and authorised assessment tasks. Listing under another act or a general accreditation claim does not establish competence for this product. Resolve missing or unclear scope with the body and, where necessary, the notifying authority.

03

Read the certificate and responsibilities

Compare the certificate’s product, procedure, legislation and conditions with the actual product. A voluntary certificate or test report is not automatically the mandatory notified-body output. A body number beside CE depends on the applicable rules and its relevant production-assessment role; it is not added merely because a report was purchased. The manufacturer retains declaration and conformity responsibility. Kayra supports research and coordination, without asserting notified-body status or guaranteeing its decision.
