Define the file and manufacturing boundary for the quotation
Provide the actual component or kit, intended use, steel or aluminium material, drawings, variants, manufacturing sites and design responsibilities. Identify cutting, joining, coating and outsourced steps. An offer for one workshop making customer-designed beams differs from an offer covering manufacturer-designed kits and several sites; the service title alone cannot define that workload.
Example: two frames share a commercial series but use different joints and material grades. List the drawings and existing evidence for each. Price the comparison and unresolved performance work explicitly rather than assuming that one material certificate or old report covers both. Technical acceptance and the notified body’s FPC decision remain outside a consultant’s guarantee.
Separate preparation from external assessment and corrections
Describe scope review, document organisation, traceability checks and FPC preparation separately from notified-body inspection, surveillance, technical calculations, testing and production corrections. Agree who commissions each task and pays external charges. ISO 3834 work, where relevant, is a distinct welding-quality task; it is not a purchased substitute for EN 1090-1 conformity assessment.
If an inspection record cannot be linked to the supplied beam or the evidence covers another geometry, first resolve the identity and technical gap. Further review, inspection or testing may be needed. The actual applicable requirements determine the evidence; no universal sample count, laboratory package or fee follows from the product’s name alone.
Plan readiness, change control and remaining duties
Use milestones for scope confirmation, the technical file, implemented FPC, the relevant body’s inspection and response to findings. Document availability, real site readiness and corrective actions affect the sequence. Do not promise a fixed certification date or total fee before those dependencies are known; continuing surveillance is different from one-time preparation.
Example: coating is subcontracted or production moves after the initial review. Update the process map, traceability and actual certificate-scope discussion before using the old file. Include who maintains declarations and handles changes. Kayra’s contracted preparation does not issue the FPC certificate, approve a building project or remove the manufacturer’s declaration and applicable CE duties.
Responsibility
Kayra supports technical scope, records and external-assessment coordination. The legally required manufacturer declaration and assessment-body decisions remain with their respective responsible parties. No notified-body, TAB or nationally assigned-body status is claimed; no positive result or fixed completion date is guaranteed.
