Check the applicable assessment basis
Define the construction product, intended use and performance to be assessed. Check the applicable harmonised specification before choosing the voluntary ETA route. Compare an existing EAD’s actual product and use boundary; its title alone does not establish coverage.
The current CPR transition also requires checking the EAD citation and any mandatory performance specification that covers the product and use. An old ETA number or an unpublished EAD is not, by itself, proof that CE marking remains available. Record the applicable basis before commissioning work.
A kit example: evidence must match the assessed assembly
Example: an insulation kit uses a different adhesive and fixing pattern from the configuration described in the available ETA. Identify the holder, product description, permitted components, substrate and intended-use conditions. Do not extend the old document to the new kit merely because the insulation board has the same name.
Present the actual changes, drawings and existing reports to a TAB designated for the relevant product area. The TAB determines the assessment and whether an existing EAD is adequate or requires further work. A component test cannot automatically close a performance gap in the complete kit.
ETA, CE marking and project use have different roles
The designated TAB issues the ETA; EOTA coordinates the EAD framework. Kayra can prepare and map the manufacturer’s file but cannot issue the assessment or guarantee its result. Match the actual product and document conditions before using any assessed performance.
The manufacturer must still fulfil the applicable declaration, production-control and constancy-of-performance tasks, including any required notified-body involvement, before CE marking. An ETA is not a building-project permission or confirmation that every national use requirement is met.
Responsibility
Kayra supports technical scope, records and external-assessment coordination. The legally required manufacturer declaration and assessment-body decisions remain with their respective responsible parties. No notified-body, TAB or nationally assigned-body status is claimed; no positive result or fixed completion date is guaranteed.
