01

Provide the actual gas and model inputs

For a proposal, provide appliance/fitting boundary, use, destination, gas family, supply pressure, category, heat-input range, models and critical controls. Supply drawings, reports, existing type documents and production records. State whether series production, a small quantity or a single unit is planned; these descriptions can change the assessment tasks.

Example: an existing report covers a burner/control combination, but the offered model uses another valve and gas pressure. Record which results remain representative and which questions need the competent body’s review. Do not price the dossier as complete on the strength of the valve’s certificate alone.

02

Separate preparation, tests and the selected procedure

List consultancy preparation, required tests, type examination, the chosen production-stage assessment and design/production corrections separately. For a unit route, identify the actual unit-verification work rather than copying the series price. Define who orders and pays for external services and how additional findings will be handled.

Sample readiness, gas test conditions, capacity and body findings affect the schedule. A failed or non-representative result may need correction and further verification. Preparation payment does not guarantee a positive test or notified-body decision; no universal fee or completion time follows from the service heading or city.

03

Plan milestones and changes after the first dossier

Distinguish product/scope confirmation, sample and file readiness, required assessment, responses and completion of the manufacturer’s actual outputs. Set responsible parties and evidence needed to close each stage. The body decides within its mandate; Kayra tracks preparation and cannot promise its decision date.

Include gas, pressure, burner, electronic control and important material changes in the scope discussion. Check how they affect the existing type and production assessment before relying on old documents. Remaining local installation and connection duties must be planned separately; compare proposals by included tasks and exclusions, not a guaranteed CE date.

04

Responsibility

Kayra supports the scope note, evidence plan and assessment coordination. It does not claim notified-body or accredited laboratory status and does not guarantee a positive result or fixed certificate date. Manufacturer and required assessment-body duties remain separate. This guide addresses the EU/EEA route; national market and operation rules need their own check.
