Define the appliance, fitting and intended use
Identify the gas-burning appliance or fitting, models, intended use and destination. Check Regulation 2016/426 and its actual exclusions before choosing the route. Equipment specifically designed for industrial processes is a different scope question; installation at a factory does not itself establish that exclusion. Record the gas family, supply pressure and appliance category for the real market.
Example: an appliance is offered with evidence for one gas and pressure, while the destination uses another condition. Compare the actual burner, controls and model with the type and reports. Do not declare the new condition covered merely because the trade name or rated heat output is similar.
Link type assessment and the real production stage
For series manufacture, EU type-examination Module B is combined with an applicable production-stage module. For a single unit or small quantities, the available unit-verification Module G route can be considered against the actual procedure. A type certificate alone does not complete the production stage; a fitting certificate is not the whole appliance’s assessment.
Prepare design/rating data, drawings, critical controls and components, risk and combustion evidence, model variants and representative samples. Match incorporated fitting documents to the installed versions. Where a notified body is required, verify its Gas Appliances Regulation product and module scope, rather than relying only on its name or general accreditation.
Keep the declaration and installation duties separate
The manufacturer retains technical and production responsibility and prepares the appropriate declaration and marking after the applicable tasks. Instructions must describe the real gas, installation, ventilation and combustion-product evacuation limits. A supplier’s component declaration does not replace those final-appliance duties.
Kayra can organise records and external assessment preparation, but does not issue the notified body’s decision or claim laboratory status. Changes to gas, pressure, burner or control design must be checked against the existing scope. Product CE work does not grant local gas-connection permission or replace compliant installation and use.
Responsibility
Kayra supports the scope note, evidence plan and assessment coordination. It does not claim notified-body or accredited laboratory status and does not guarantee a positive result or fixed certificate date. Manufacturer and required assessment-body duties remain separate. This guide addresses the EU/EEA route; national market and operation rules need their own check.
