ISO 9001 concerns a quality management system. Define the activities assessed before seeking a certificate; the document is not approval of every product.

01

Write scope from the work actually performed

Identify products or services, activities and sites. Map design responsibility and outsourced processes to actual controls. A sales-office scope cannot stand for manufacturing performed elsewhere. In a hypothetical order change, trace who agrees the revised specification and how the production team receives it.

02

Prepare the system rather than a document list

Connect customer requirements, process responsibilities, acceptance records and improvement. Show how external suppliers are selected and results checked. Application information should state sites, workforce, shifts, processes and readiness of internal assessment and management review; it enables audit planning, not automatic approval.

03

Separate publication, accreditation and decision

ISO publishes ISO 9001:2026; the 2015 edition is withdrawn from the catalogue. Existing certificate status and transition require issuer verification, not a guessed universal deadline. Publication does not automatically extend accreditation from an older edition. Confirm the issuer’s criteria, scope and independent decision process before contracting.

04

Preparation and independent decision

ISO does not issue certificates. Verify the proposed issuer, standard and activity against any claimed accreditation scope. Consultancy cannot guarantee approval; the competent body evaluates evidence and makes the independent decision. The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.

Sources and application limits

The order example is hypothetical. The organisation remains responsible for actual product/customer obligations; certificate edition, status and transition are checked separately.
