01

Scope before testing

EU Directive 2014/35/EU applies to equipment designed for rated voltages of 50–1,000 V AC or 75–1,500 V DC, subject to Annex II exclusions. Being electrical is not enough to establish scope. Check intended use, supply, whether it is a finished product or component, and other applicable legislation. This guide concerns the EU market; national rules must also be checked for Turkey.

02

Who assesses conformity?

The LVD does not require a notified body. The manufacturer is responsible for assessment, technical documentation, the EU declaration and marking. Commissioning laboratory tests does not transfer that responsibility. A purchased general certificate cannot replace evidence of the safety objectives. Assess other applicable requirements, such as EMC, separately.

03

Connect documentation to production

Define the model, circuit, critical components, insulation, enclosure and user information. Connect tests to the actual design and explain differences between sample and production product. Keep production consistent with the evaluated design. Kayra supports scope, records and test coordination; it does not replace a laboratory report or the manufacturer’s responsibility, and cannot guarantee favourable results.
