Programme and responsibilities

COSMOS ORGANIC involves assessing formulation and production against that programme's requirements. One organic oil certificate does not automatically make the finished cosmetic organic. Check the current v4.2 documents alongside the owner's authorised-body register before agreeing an application route.

Worked decision example

Planning example: A cream contains certified organic oil, water and minerals, and its proposed label says “organic product”. Collect acceptable organic evidence for the oil, the status of other ingredients and recipe quantities. Distinguish the calculation denominator from what the label actually claims; the oil's percentage cannot simply be presented as the whole product's organic percentage. Submit product, site and label scope to the authorised body without confusing the goal with NATURAL certification.

Preparation and verification

Connect supplier documents, formula version, manufacturing records and artwork to the same product identity. The owner's labelling guide governs the organic claim and signature. Programme assessment does not replace cosmetic safety obligations and does not justify therapeutic or risk-free claims.
