FSSC 22000 Certificate Transfer
FSSC 22000 transfer is recognition of an existing valid accredited FSSC certificate by an accepting body. Version 6 does not allow transfer of expired or suspended certificates. An ISO 22000 certificate alone is not an existing FSSC certificate.
Establish transfer eligibility before quoting
Collect legal entity, sites, category and scope, current certificate, register status, audit history and unresolved findings. Ask the licensed accepting body to establish eligibility. A future expiry date on a PDF does not by itself show that current status is active.
Do not treat suspension as an administrative switch
Hypothetical example: the certificate copy has months left before expiry, but the current official record is suspended. A provider offers to rename it under another body. Keep the suspension visible and ask the responsible bodies to clarify the proper route; payment cannot make that certificate eligible for transfer.
The accepting body conducts a pre-transfer review. It may identify a need for a pre-transfer visit; that visit is not an audit. Prepare the records and follow-up evidence it requests instead of assuming a new logo or quotation closes the previous findings.
Separate current transfer and future upgrade planning
Under Version 6, the transfer, including certificate issuance, must be completed before current expiry. Version 7 additionally specifies review, decision, issuance and platform upload before the next audit in the cycle is conducted. Confirm the applicable version and schedule with the body; do not mix the requirements silently.
Version 6 audits remain permitted through 30 April 2027; Version 7 upgrade audits run from 1 May 2027 to 30 April 2028. Kayra can organise the file and timing questions but cannot accept a transfer, lift suspension or guarantee continuity. The licensed body retains review and certification decisions.

Can a suspended certificate be transferred?
No. The scheme excludes suspended and expired certificates from transfer.
Is a pre-transfer visit an audit?
No. It is part of the accepting body's review where needed, and does not replace applicable audits.

Scope and decision verification
Conformity or certification decisions belong to the independent body or public authority authorised under the applicable law and programme. Verify the issuer, scope, dates and any official register entry. The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. For FSSC certification, separately verify the selected legal entity’s programme licence, relevant scope and current status; ISO 22000 accreditation alone is not an FSSC licence. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.
