GDP: frequently asked questions

Who makes the official GDP decision?

The national competent authority authorises and inspects EEA medicinal-product wholesalers. Confirm the Turkish warehouse route separately. A consultant’s preparation work does not replace that decision or establish authority to distribute medicines.

Can a private certificate replace official authorisation?

No. Describe private assessment, official authorisation and inspection separately. Verify who decided what activity and scope; the letters “GDP” on a document do not establish regulatory authority by themselves.

Can one temperature range cover every medicine?

No. Apply the relevant product’s storage and transport conditions. Connect warehouse, vehicle and transfer-point evidence to those conditions instead of treating a general range as suitable for every product.

Does restored temperature close an earlier excursion?

Not automatically. Review the affected batch, timing, device and product conditions. Appropriate responsible people document the disposition. This page and consultancy are not decisions to release a medicine for use.

Can a return go straight back into saleable stock?

Returned identity, source and storage and transport history require assessment. An intact outer package is not enough. Do not assume automatic resale before identifying the evidence and people responsible for the decision.

Does the pandemic blanket certificate extension still apply?

EMA explains that the earlier general extension no longer applies from 2025. Check actual validity and any case-specific additional decision with the issuing competent authority; an old news item cannot establish an automatic extension.
