IFS Food Certificate Renewal and Audit
IFS Food recertification is a full annual audit of the production site, not an administrative certificate reprint. Use the next audit period shown on the certificate and confirm the announced or unannounced option with the certification body. At least every third IFS Food audit must be unannounced.
Plan the full annual audit from the certificate window
Bring the COID, current certificate, previous report and action plan, product and technology scopes, production schedule and last unannounced audit details into the planning file. The cycle is based on the audit history, rather than simply one year after certificate issuance. Missing the applicable period can cause a break in certification.
Show that previous actions actually work
The auditor reviews implementation and effectiveness of corrections and corrective actions from the previous audit. Prepare the current IFS Food 8 requirements and applicable Doctrine clarifications alongside genuine operating records. An audit option does not waive checklist requirements, and changing advisers does not erase previous findings. Explain remaining gaps honestly rather than constructing retrospective records for the renewal visit.
