amfori BSCI: Plan evidence before the site assessment
amfori BSCI is a programme for assessing and improving social risks at production sites; it is not certification.
Plan evidence before the site assessment
In a hypothetical site assessment, agency workers appear in production but not in the workforce list. Reconcile the actual list with the labour provider and include relevant records and working conditions in preparation. Keep unanswered questions visible for the audit; removing workers from a spreadsheet does not remove them from the assessed site.
Match the customer to the actual site
Compare legal name, facility address, production activities, shifts and workforce arrangements with the platform record. Scope example: a buyer requests the main factory’s report, while part of the order is produced in another workshop. Clarify the assessed site and outsourced work with the RSP holder. A report for one address cannot automatically represent another facility or company in the group.
Consistency between hours, wages and interviews
Link working-time records, overtime calculations, wages, payments and recruitment evidence to the same reporting period. File example: the shift sheet matches payroll, but worker interviews describe unrecorded work. Investigate the source and correct records and practice together. Renaming a procedure or coaching interview answers cannot resolve the discrepancy; the evidence should explain actual conditions rather than merely appear internally tidy.
Improvement after the report
Site observations, interviews and documents contribute to the audit assessment. Convert findings into a plan with actual causes and responsible people; agree relevant follow-up needs with the RSP holder and auditing company. Do not describe a BSCI report as an ISO certificate, an unconditional pass or a certificate automatically accepted by every customer. Confirm the particular buyer’s acceptance and access requirements.
