01

Scope and essential requirements

EMC covers electromagnetic emissions and immunity for in-scope equipment. Define intended environment, connections and normal operation; check exclusions and more specific legislation. This guide addresses the EU/EEA route.

02

Apparatus versus fixed installation

A fixed installation must meet EMC requirements through good engineering practice; it does not follow the apparatus CE/declaration procedure under this Directive. Independently marketed apparatus normally remains subject to apparatus rules. Article 19 has specific conditions for equipment intended only for one installation; intended site use is not a blanket exemption.

03

Assessment and responsibility

Article 14 allows internal production control or EU type examination followed by conformity to type. A notified body is not mandatory for every EMC project. Assess representative intended configurations, verify standards and link reports to the file. Kayra supports preparation and coordination, without claiming laboratory or notified-body status or guaranteeing conformity.
