Identify the structural component before choosing the route
Describe the component or kit actually placed on the market, its intended structural function, material, joints and delivery boundary. A welded metal object is not automatically an EN 1090-1 construction product. Compare the actual use with the standard’s scope and any more specific product specification; a nonstructural guard and a load-bearing frame require different scope reasoning.
Example: a supplier offers a steel frame with site-installed connections. State which components form the supplied kit and who designs the connections. Raw steel certificates do not establish the assembled frame’s performance. Keep manufacturing characteristics, design responsibilities and the project’s installation acceptance separate; none can be inferred from a company certificate alone.
Connect performance evidence to the actual configuration
Prepare drawings, component specifications, material identities, design inputs where applicable, joining records and inspection results linked to the finished component. EN 1090-1 concerns conformity assessment; EN 1090-2 addresses steel execution and EN 1090-3 aluminium execution. ISO 3834 welding-quality evidence does not replace the product’s performance assessment or factory production control, known as FPC.
A report for a shorter beam with different joints is supplied for a revised beam. Compare geometry, grade, connections and intended loading before reusing it. Record the unsupported performance claim and obtain the responsible technical assessment or additional evidence. Do not label the revision covered solely because its trade name and welding supplier remain unchanged.
Separate FPC certification, declaration and project approval
For the applicable System 2+ route, distinguish the manufacturer’s performance and production-control tasks from the notified body’s FPC certification tasks, including initial inspection and continuing surveillance. Verify the body’s actual scope and the certificate’s manufacturing site and product coverage. A certificate for another workshop does not automatically cover the new site or outsourced operations.
Check the applicable official standard citation and CPR transition for the actual product family. A publisher’s current edition is not itself an EU legal citation. The manufacturer’s declaration and CE marking depend on the applicable route; neither FPC certification nor Kayra’s preparation grants universal CE permission, approval of the whole building or acceptance of every later variant.
Responsibility
Kayra supports technical scope, records and external-assessment coordination. The legally required manufacturer declaration and assessment-body decisions remain with their respective responsible parties. No notified-body, TAB or nationally assigned-body status is claimed; no positive result or fixed completion date is guaranteed.
