An ISO 9001 audit needs evidence of the system in operation. A procedure folder alone cannot show whether customer requirements are met.

01

Follow one work item through the system

For a hypothetical order, connect agreed requirements, change approval, supplier input, execution, inspection and delivery. Match identifiers and current versions. Review a complaint or defect through correction, cause, action and effectiveness. A closed action without follow-up does not demonstrate improvement.

02

Separate preparation time and audit work

Stage 1 reviews the system and readiness for stage 2; stage 2 evaluates implementation. Allow time for operational records, internal assessment, review and findings. Compare initial, surveillance and recertification audit, travel and additional work using the same workforce, sites, shifts and process assumptions. Consultancy and internal changes are separate costs.

03

Verify the result and edition limits

Match issuer, certificate number, entity, activities, sites, edition and active status, with claimed accreditation checked separately. ISO 9001:2026 publication does not make every older certificate invalid automatically or every issuer approved for 2026. Obtain the applicable transition arrangements from the issuer. The system certificate is not a product conformity declaration or guarantee of acceptance by every customer.

04

Preparation and independent decision

ISO does not issue certificates. Verify the proposed issuer, standard and activity against any claimed accreditation scope. Consultancy cannot guarantee approval; the competent body evaluates evidence and makes the independent decision. The applicant implements the system and prepares procedures specific to its own operations and operating records. A certification enquiry to Kayra concerns actual activities, sites, application information, authority and impartiality risks; this role does not include designing or implementing the client’s system. A management-system certification body, other parts of the same legal entity and controlled entities cannot offer or provide management-system consultancy; separate contracts do not remove this restriction.

Sources and application limits

Examples are hypothetical. Neither a readiness date nor preparation consultancy guarantees a positive independent certification decision.
