01

Quote against a defined model and evidence file

Provide the actual product and variant list, intended use, materials, production sites, existing licence information, drawings, reports and quality-management records. First establish the current schedule and specification boundary. Preparation effort depends on the real gaps and configurations; there is no justified universal fee based only on a service title or the number of products.

Conditional example: an existing report covers one mixer body while the proposed range uses another alloy and outlet assembly. List exactly what remains supported and what has changed. Do not quote the file as complete until the WMCAB has considered the scope and acceptance of evidence. Clarification or further testing may be required, but a fixed test programme is not invented.

02

Separate preparation, assessment and production corrections

Describe consultancy preparation separately from the WMCAB assessment, external testing and any work needed to meet production quality requirements. State who supplies, requests and pays for each item. Existing reports may reduce repeated work only if accepted for the actual product; paying a preparation fee does not purchase a licence or ensure a favourable assessment.

A report for a component may leave the final assembly unresolved. Record that dependency and agree the next work before treating it as included. Kayra can coordinate the file, while the WMCAB retains the product decision and the laboratory retains its testing role. Compare offers by the work, exclusions and unresolved evidence, rather than one headline price.

03

Plan milestones, model verification and later changes

Plan product definition, evidence review, production-quality work, WMCAB assessment and responses as separate milestones. If a supplier gives a licence number but the sale model cannot be matched in the official database, clarify the actual scope and status before making a certification claim. A similar registered model is not a reason to declare the file complete or promise an approval date.

Include later material or factory changes and product surveillance in the scope discussion. Keep any applicable WELS work and installation responsibilities separate: the quotation does not buy approval of a building project. No fixed total duration or outcome is promised while evidence acceptance, corrective work or the WMCAB decision remains unresolved.

04

Responsibility

Kayra supports the actual plumbing-product scope, model/test/production records and coordination. An authorised WMCAB makes the WaterMark certification and licence decision; ABCB administers the scheme. The licence holder and manufacturer retain the product and production duties, while applicable installation and WELS work remain separate. Consultancy is not WMCAB designation and does not guarantee licensing or a date.
